Real-Time Market Data Feed over WebSocket for Stocks, Forex and Crypto

Replace polling with a push-based price feed. One WebSocket connection streams live quotes, trades and order book depth for thousands of symbols across stocks, forex, indices, futures, funds and crypto.

  • Push-based stock market data feed with millisecond-level latency
  • Subscribe to many symbols on one connection
  • Quote, tick and depth channels with a unified JSON schema
  • REST endpoints for snapshots, history and recovery
import json
import websocket # pip install websocket-client

TOKEN = "YOUR_API_TOKEN"

def on_open(ws):
    ws.send(json.dumps({
        "ac": "subscribe",
        "params": "AAPL$US,TSLA$US,700$HK",
        "types": "quote,tick,depth"
    }))

def on_message(ws, message):
    print(json.loads(message))

ws = websocket.WebSocketApp(
    "wss://api.itick.org/stock",
    header={"token": TOKEN},
    on_open=on_open,
    on_message=on_message,
)

A financial data feed engineered for real time

Everything you need to stream market prices into trading systems, apps and dashboards.

True streaming

Prices are pushed the moment they change - no rate-limited polling loops and no stale snapshots.

Quote, tick and depth

Choose the channels you need: Level 1 quotes, tick-by-tick trades or Level 2 order book updates.

Multi-asset coverage

Stocks from 50+ exchanges, 150+ forex pairs, 2,000+ crypto assets, 300+ indices, futures and funds.

Stable connections

Heartbeats and automatic reconnection patterns keep your real time data feed running 24/7.

Any language

Standard WebSocket protocol works with Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, C# and more.

REST fallback

Use REST for initial snapshots, historical candles and gap recovery after reconnects.

WebSocket vs REST for market data

Most applications combine both. Here is when to use each.

Market data feed FAQ

What is a real-time market data feed?

A real-time market data feed is a continuous stream of price updates - quotes, trades and order book changes - delivered to your application as they happen, usually over WebSocket or a similar push protocol.

Should I use WebSocket or REST for stock data?

Use WebSocket for live prices that change constantly (tickers, trading logic, order books) and REST for snapshots, historical data and occasional lookups. iTick provides both with the same symbols and schema.

How many symbols can I subscribe to on one connection?

You can subscribe to multiple symbols in a single message, separated by commas. Subscription limits depend on your plan - see the pricing page for details.

Does the feed include crypto and forex?

Yes. Separate WebSocket endpoints stream stocks, forex (including gold and silver), crypto, indices, futures and funds with an identical message format.

Is there a free real-time data feed?

Yes. A free API key lets you test the WebSocket feed for personal use. Upgrade for more symbols, higher limits and commercial licensing.
